Perhaps one of the most frustrating things about being an admin/moderator on Mastodon is manually approving tags.

I know recent Mastodon instances have an option to approve all tags, but we tried that and got a bunch of dodgy results on our instance, so it's back to manually approving tags.

Most of the time, the manual tag approval process is fine. But there are certain tags which grinds my gears – it's the "X a Y (or Z)", like:

* waffleasongorbook
* breakasong

etc

We ask people who play our once a day 9pm hashtag game (established November 16, 2022) to include the universal tag so end users can filter the noise of the new daily game out. 99.99% do

I know that doesn't help your Explore trending option, but we do help non-players filter it out.

People across the Fediverse come together every night at 9PM EST, (6PM PT / 1AM GMT / 2AM CET / 12PM AEDT / 2PM NZST) to play the one toot game and have a little fun and it trends
